Case Study
A day-long onboarding audit, down to under an hour
Bulk-importing a new client's full domain list and handing over a branded baseline before the onboarding call ends.
Illustrative scenario, not a specific verified customer — grounded in ActiScan's real capabilities and how MSPs typically use them. A mid-sized MSP onboarding a multi-brand client with 40 active domains.

The situation
A new client signs, and the MSP's first job is figuring out what they've actually inherited — not just the primary domain, but every legacy brand, acquired company, and marketing microsite still sending or receiving mail. A multi-brand client with 40 domains means 40 separate SPF/DMARC/DKIM lookups done by hand, cross-referenced against whatever mail platform each one turns out to be on, before anyone can write up a single finding.
That kind of audit used to eat most of a day — and by the time it was done, the client had already been waiting through their first week with no real picture of where they stood.
What changed
Instead of adding domains one at a time, the client's full domain list gets pasted into Bulk import — one per line, or straight out of a spreadsheet as comma-separated text. Every valid domain is added and scanned immediately; anything already on the list is skipped, and anything that isn't a real domain gets reported back instead of silently dropped, so there's no manual reconciling afterward.
Every one of those 40 domains runs the same 8 checks in parallel — SPF, DMARC, DKIM, BIMI, MTA-STS, S/MIME mail capability, subdomain exposure, and a 7-list blacklist check — without anyone touching a terminal or a third-party lookup tool.
The client's domains get grouped under one named group with a primary domain set, so from that point on, the fleet-health panel at the top of the dashboard scopes to just this client: one line reading "12 open issues across 9 of 40 domains," every failing check listed underneath, every domain linking straight to its own report.
The outcome
What used to be a day of manual lookups and a hand-built spreadsheet becomes a branded PDF the MSP can hand over before the onboarding call even ends — the client's logo nowhere on it, the MSP's own name and color on every page. It's a documented, dated baseline: exactly what was found, on exactly what day, before anything was touched.
That baseline is also what every future report gets measured against. When the MSP shows up for the next quarterly review, "here's what we fixed since onboarding" is a real, provable claim, not a verbal assurance.
Questions
What happens to domains that are already on my list when I bulk-import?
They're skipped, not re-scanned or duplicated — Bulk import only adds domains that aren't already there.
Does bulk import work for a client with just a handful of domains too?
Yes — it's the same form either way, whether you're pasting in 3 domains or 300. It just saves the most time at real scale.
Can I show the client the report without giving them dashboard access?
Yes — Create share link on any report page makes a read-only, unauthenticated URL you can send directly, revocable any time.
